The Baldwin girls' gymnastic team won the Pennsylvania Classic gold div-ision championship last season.

The Lady Highlanders, who practice at compete at Premier Gym and Cheer, are looking for big things again this time around.

"We're looking to add a lot of difficulty into our routines. We've added a lot more into the girls' routines. We now have the equipment to do that," said Baldwin's head coach, Karen Krieger. "We're looking for the girls to master these (more difficult routines) by the end of the season, so they can compete with the other high school teams that have club gymnasts."

Four key members on last year's team are back in 2005-06 -- sophomore Katelynn Cass and seniors Noelle Reinheimer, Erica Schmidt and Lind-say Nix.

Cass placed fourth all-around in the diamond division at the state meet.

She ended up second on the balance beam, fourth on the vault, seventh on the floor exercise and ninth on the parallel bars.

Reinheimer won a state champion-ship in the gold division floor exercise event, posting a winning score of 9.075.

She also took fourth place on the parallel bars and eighth place on the balance beam.

Reinheimer ended up second on the floor at the WPIAL finals. She is gearing to compete in the diamond division in this year's postseason tournaments.

Schmidt and Nix competed in the gold division at the state meet and concluded sixth and seventh, respectively, in the all-around scoring.

Schmidt finished fifth on the bars, seventh on the beam and ninth on the floor.

Nix secured third place on the bars, fifth on the floor and ninth on the vault.

Two newcomers to the Baldwin lineup include senior Shayne Souleret and sophomore Robin Rectenwald.

Souleret has been recovering from an injury in the early going.

The top freshman prospects are: Samantha Englehart, a diamond division competitor, Traci Walkowiak and Chelsea Peterson.

The Lady Highlanders wound up in third place in the team scoring at the WPIAL championships last year.

Cass, a freshman sensation a year ago, finished 10th overall in the diamond division.

Schmidt, Nix and Reinheimer competed in the silver division.

Schmidt ended up third all-around while Nix wrapped up eighth place all-around.

Reinheimer narrowly missed winning a WPIAL title on the floor, placing second with an 8.85 score.

Baldwin wound up with a 9-3 record during the 2004-05 regular season and handed WPIAL champ North Allegh-eny its only loss of the year.

The senior members of last year's squad were Heather Carbonara, Dara Meize and Kelly Catania.

Carbonara and Catania were four-year starters.

Meize competed in the bronze division.
