Who is most responsible for the recent blunders by Jefferson Hills Council?

The problem is you cannot place the blame in one particular direction.

I would say King, because his mother is employed by the borough, and everyone who has ever been involved in JH politics over the years understands that Mrs. King pulls the strings. That is why King's father ran for council in 2007 - so Mrs. King could control not just two, but three votes - King the son, King the hubbie, Reynolds the godmother - plus Cmar, the close friend politico from WM. Although the father lost, they now have Weber and Khalil to give them a five vote majority to continue wreaking havoc.

It seems to me that individuals who are so opposed to the current council leadership probably were inclined to favor those who lost in the last election and would be critical of the new council regardless of any decisions that are made. Of course, you can always voice your feelings when the next election occurs through voting or making yourself a candidate. It is ok to disagree with decisions made on their merit, but what makes people so sick of politics today is the pettiness and personal bickering. Aren't the policies and decisions of the Borough arrived at by a consensus and the will of the majority? Citizens must hold the leadership to accountability by
attending the council sessions, asking questions, and be willing to address council of their concerns. If there is a problem for council to address, express that concern in an objective manner.

Yes, Roastman, let's be objective.

The objective fact remains that a solicitor who charges $85/hour with a $90,000 cap was dumped for a solicitor who charges $125/hour with no cap. Did these "young turks (your words-not mine)" of a council provide the taxpaying public with any reason justifying the dismissal of the solicitor? After five months, Council still has not given any reason for the change. We do know, however, that the new solicitor actively campaigned for these council members, made phonebank calls from his legal offices, and sent personal letters on behalf of the newly elected candidates.

Mr. Shepard was let go without just cause at a cost of $25,000, plus benefits, to the taxpayers. Council, even with all their letters to the editor, has still given no reason to justify the dismissal and the additional cost to the taxpayers, whether or not the man was hired by the old council or the new council. It really doesn't matter who hired him if his work was not unsatisfactory - and they have not said that it was.

Yes,this is about pettiness and personal bickering - by those in the glass house.

The objective facts speak for themselves.

My question is who are you? You want to point me out that's fine, but at least come clean and reveal your identity as well.
