Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh "Spring Celebration"

The Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh will be offering it's "Spring Celebration" at Seton-LaSalle High School on Saturday, April 28 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, April 29 at 2:00pm. On the program will be the concert version of George Balanchine's Who Cares?, set to the music of George Gershwin, and staged by Lindy Mandradjieff, former New York City Ballet dancer and current faculty member of the Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh. The Spring Celebration will also feature several new works by faculty members Robert Steele and Valerie Gigliotti, including a more abstract piece set to the music of Ravel's Bolero, and a children's ballet entitled Falling Stars. Rounding out the program will be a ballet choreographed to the beautiful Amazing Grace, excerpts from Coppelia, and finally, Celtic Dances, performed at the 2006 Pittsburgh Irish Festival, and featuring a brand-new third movement.
