In the past 2 days I have personaly had 2 conversations which trouble me. My neighbor has a red and white council sign in her front yard. I asked her if she knew any of the canidates on the sign and if she could tell me more about them. Her response was, "I am friends with the mayor and he asked me to put it there for his friends". If this is how our residents vote at an election we are all in trouble. Passing another home, I asked the same question to a person in front of the house. The response was that they did not know the canidates, but the public works department was working in the area and asked if the sign could be put in the yard. Why are our borough employees putting political signs up while working for the residents of the borough?? I do not feel that I should be paying for someone to put up signs for canidates I do not know anything about. What favors will need to be repaid to borough employee if canidate is elected?  read more »
