A proposal to strip mine some 100 acres in the Sleepy Hollow section of South Park is dead, according to County Executive Dan Onorato.

"It's fair to say this proposal is not going to move," Onorato told some 250 mostly cheering attendees at what was billed as an information meeting this morning at South Park High School, the Pittsburgh Trib reports.
