River City Brass Band, founded in 1981, is a wonderful combination of stunning virtuosity, masterful programming, and lighthearted fun! These 28 musicians, under the baton of Maestro Denis Colwell, produce the full richness of a symphony orchestra, the intimacy of a chamber ensemble, the toe-tapping brilliance of a military band and the swinging sound of a Big Band.

SEP 16--The curtain comes up on a program sure to bring down the house! You’ll hear fabulous new arrangements of much-loved songs from the Broadway stage and the silver screen. Nothing but great tunes played by a great brass band!

OCT 14--Want to see the next Judy Garland, Ethel Merman or James Earl Jones? The next generation of Broadway stars is at the Creative and Performing Arts High School right now. We are thrilled to share the infectious energy and amazing talent.
SONGS OF FREEDOM
NOV 4--In honor of Veterans Day we tip our hats to our men and women in uniform with hymns, marches and songs connected to the various branches of the armed services, including the long-neglected march of the US Merchant Marine. And you can expect a very special visit by that great American, humorist Mark Twain.
CHRISTMAS CLASSICS
--NOV 2--Back by popular demand, the best high school choirs in the area join the RCBB for a yuletide songfest sure to put you in the holiday spirit.
ON A WORLD TOUR
--MAR 9--The RCBB takes you on a long-overdue tour of the world of brass. On this program the soloists step out of the RCBB and into the spotlight, reminding one and all that this band is comprised of first-class virtuosos. A great chance to get to know the RCBB!
TALK OF THE TOWN
--APR 13--Some of the America’s finest musicians were born in Pittsburgh, a city with a musical heritage second to none. On this concert the RCBB, with guest soloist Lisa Ferraro celebrates the music of the big band and swing era with special attention to the works of Pittsburghers Billy Strayhorn, George Benson, Erroll Garner and others.
