Okay-so she resigned. What happens now? Since the 3 in the primary won the election for November, shouldn't they have a say in who should be appointed now--if council chooses to accept her resignation and chooses to appoint now. Don't forget--whoever they appoint now would be in for a term of 2 yrs. If they choose to wait until January to appoint, then I feel that would be okay because the newly elected would be able to have a voice as to whom to appoint. Do you think if council has to appoint now it could possibly be that Valente that ran with Pasquantonio and Bender on the ticket? The fact that council endorsed him and those presently on council can't appoint themselves; or do you think council will wait until January and bring one of the 3 that are leaving--Hall; Bender; or Pasqua...back as the new appointee?

Personally, I don't think anyone should be appointed. I feel that if there is a seat available because of whatever circumstance, the people should still have a vote in who they want to represent their voice. Who is council to decide---just because they have to fill a seat. Didn't those elected have to go thru the running to be elected? Then every person who wants to claim that position should have to do the same. There should be a special type of clause somewhere in the "bi-laws" explaining about a special circumstance(like this or a death for instance) and it should propose a special election--not matter what time of year it is.

Anyone else have an opinion?

First, council will act on her resignation at the next meeting. It is possible that council would act on this in the monthly agenda meeting rather than wait for the regular session of council. Both meetings are advertised so voting on it at the agenda session would be legal. I think that the present council will also vote on her replacement ASAP and not wait until the new council is seated in January. This could also be done at the agenda meeting which is not normally well-attended by the public. I would guess that the person selected by council will probably have the support of our local Democratic Committee. If you know any of our committee-people, see if they will divulge who it is they are pushing for the slot.

The position is always appointed by the current council, why would that change now?? I am although looking forward to the election to allow the skeletons to completely come out on those lucky 3 that have won the primary election. I know that that would typically be vindictive and childish, but.... enough people voted blinded by the DYTKO syndrome and now you expect us to swallow the pill of those 3, absolutley not. I can only hope that some new options surface in this election and then followed up by the Mayorial election. I think we have had enough of the current ignorance from that office. See you at the polls !!!

It has always been that council appoints someone to fill the vacancy, if that is what this is. I wonder though did she just relinquish her being president or is it her council seat that she is resigning from? This may be a question for the solicitor. I agree that the whole election in May was a mess. There was a witch hunt for Valente, Pasquantonio, and Bender, who are all good candidates in my opinion. This was all due to MD and the people in the borough building who don't like her. Now we are stuck with the 3. It really is a shame. Things are a mess. I hope that progress does'nt stop. I see ALOT going on in Brentwood that is for the good.

Mary Dytko might have handed in her resignation but she still remains on her throne at her new campaign headquarters at a local bar in the borough. In my opinion, she still remains the puppet master with Mr. Lieb as her main marionette. She states the reason she is in the trouble she's in is because certain people wanted her out. Not the fact that she used a borough credit card for her own personal use or lied on applications and violated the ethics act. All this and still most council members considers her with their highest regards.
Just recently the Brentwood K-whine officer met with Ms. Dytko at her new headquarters for 1 and 1/2 hours. He has also been seen at Mr. Liebs house on many occasions while he is on duty.
This all ties in with the monkey see monkey do mentality of the acting president and the rest of council members. Just as what was done to former Chief Nevling of the Pleasant Hills police department, Brentwood Borough solicitor and the police union attorney are working together and conducting interviews of every officer in the efforts to build a case against Chief Butelli.
The borough solicitor announced the lawfirm of Campbell, Durrant and Beatty were hired to settle disputes between the mayors office and council, when in actuality they were hired to try and find something on the chief to have him removed from his position. The first team of investigators that were hired with tax payers money failed to find any wrong doing on the chiefs part, now they're using or should I say wasting more of tax payers money on this second investigation.
As you can see, the lies and money still flow freely from council chambers. How much longer are we going to stand for this waste? I can think of many improvements to the borough that these monies can be contributed to rather than the ongoing personal and vindictive objectives of this council.

S&T,

I have nobody else to ask that with your vast knowledge and all seeing powers, so excuse the questions please.

1. Should all officials be removed for using the card ... or just her?
2. Should everyone who lied on their ethics form be removed - or just her?
3. What bar - what did they eat and drink ? Just curious.
4. Do you work for the new law firm - just curious how you know why they
were hired ?
5. Does the borough need a investigator to reveal why certain people need
removed? I heard a couple at the last council meeting - and I have
heard plenty more around town - is that enough ??
6. Are the police and other employees prohibited from speaking to council
members? If so... why?
7. Have you seen the new Police car ??
8. Do you buy candles ??
9. What will the daily number be on Friday?
10. Who is the Police Attorney and has anything interesting been reported?
11. Do you work in the borough - are u an A or a B ?? I heard that
question asked before.

I seem to remember the last time I posted blogs and provided proof about the type of person M. Dytko was, comments just like yours from Teamster. I refuse to answer your childish questions. Take your ball and go home, I don't want to play.

I think Victory had some good questions that were asked, its Friday do
you have a good lottery number for today? Are you upset that Victory has a ball and maybe you don't. You must be one of the Saints of Brentwood too.Don't let your babies grow up to be like you.

The answers to the questions are just too much for some to bear. I think alot of us know what they are. But, they are not convenient to some people. The problem in this borough is that everything is one sided. To make one side look bad and make the other side look good. Well it's not working anymore. In my heart I don't believe that MD was the only one.

And by the way, does anyone else's mechanic pay for your golf outings? Mine does'nt. Just wondering!

Well, here we go again. It seems that the little town of Brentwood is a hotbed for dissatisfaction and scandal.

It was not too long ago when the council, police chief and others were embroiled in a national controversy so big that the borough's liability insurance carrier dropped it and it was forced to hunt another carrier.

It was not so long ago, either, when Brentwood council was on a witch hunt for a former police chief that they were willing to go to any lengths to embarass people and prevarication was a way of life.

Now, another controversy enters the spotlight. And another police chief is under fire. When are Brentwood citizens going to learn how to obtain FACTS before elected officials are put into office? When will people who have no evidence of wrongdoing found against them going to be let alone?

It seems to me that a little bit of time invested BEFORE elections take place, or money is spent on an investigation that yields nothing would be worthwhile to the taxpayers of Brentwood. As a matter of fact, maybe Brentwood's citizens should demand it.
