Heather Betancourt, a seventh grader at St. Sylvester School in Brentwood, will travel to Holland in July as a People to People Sports Ambassador for the 2006 soccer season. Heather will meet and compete with the finest young soccer athletes from many other nations at the Youth Friendship Games. The People to People program was founded 50 years ago by President Eisenhower as a way to promote world peace through increased understanding between citizens of the world.

The family and school community are thrilled that Heather has been selected for this honor, and that she will represent her country, her sport, her school and her faith at this international competition. Look for upcoming fundraising efforts to help send Heather to Holland!
